The Bulgarian participants we sent to the "EngagedYOUTH" Exchange have shared their stories, and we're thrilled to hear that they had an amazing time and gained valuable knowledge! Here are some photos and experiences they shared with us...

Eftim Futekov: "When I first arrived at the project venue, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would the organization be smooth? Would the location feel welcoming? Would teamwork come naturally? Looking back now, I can confidently say that all three played a role in making this experience unforgettable. The organization was impressive—everything was well-planned, from workshops to cultural activities, allowing us to focus on learning and connecting. The venue itself was inspiring, a space that encouraged both collaboration and relaxation, making every discussion and activity feel even more engaging. But what truly stood out the most was the teamwork. Meeting people from different backgrounds, sharing ideas, and working together toward common goals made this project more than just an event—it became a shared journey. The friendships built, the challenges overcome, and the support we gave each other proved that Erasmus+ is about more than just learning; it’s about growing together."

Georgi Angelov: "What stood out to me during this project are the people I got to meet. It may sound like a cliché, but frankly, I was thrilled to make so many friends and exchange ideas, views, opinions, etc. The people I spend most of my time with (except the national group) were Latvians. We instantly clicked and had a lot of bonding moments filled with joy and laughter. I expected to stay in my comfort zone and only talk with my friend with whom we participated together, yet fortunately that did not happen. The project has taught me many things about civic-mindedness and human rights, but most of all I value the personal growth I experienced there and the huge boost to my social skills. I strongly believe that anyone should go to at least one Erasmus project and see the benefits for themselves!"

Tsvetana Bozhanova: " As it was my first project, I decided to have no expectations and just be open to whatever was to come. And I was not disappointed. I learned a lot about active citizenship and civic-mindedness through the many creative activities we did. I had to step out of my comfort zone to perform theatrical acts, and I do not regret it. What I value most are the friendships I made with the Bulgarian team and some amazing people from Latvia and Lithuania. We spent many nights having fun, playing games, and diving into interesting conversationsWe also had the chance to see a bit of Lithuania during our one-day trip to Klaipėda. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I would definitely repeat if I could. This will certainly not be my last Erasmus project!"

Kalina Shagova: " From March 3 to March 12, I had the incredible opportunity to take part in the EngagedYOUTH Erasmus+ project in Skuodas district, Lithuania. It was an unforgettable experience filled with learning, cultural exchange, and amazing people. The project focused on what it means to be civic-minded, and through discussions, debates, and creative tasks, we explored how we can actively contribute to our communities. One of the most interesting parts was working in teams to design our civic initiatives which made everything feel real and practical. I also loved the cultural exchange aspect, especially since I had the chance to connect with people from Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, and Georgia, cultures I’ve had no crossing point with before. Sharing experiences with them and learning about their perspectives on citizenship was really interesting. Beyond the workshops, the project was full of memorable moments. Every evening, we celebrated different cultures through music, dance, and food. But one of my absolute favorite experiences was our day trip to Klaipėda. Exploring the old town and visiting the Dolphin House was such a nice break from our usual sessions, and it made me appreciate Lithuania even more. As the project came to an end, I realized how much I had grown - not just in my understanding of civic engagement but also in my connections with people from across Europe that I can now call friends. This project showed me that being an active citizen isn’t about doing big things but about small, meaningful actions that bring change. It reminded me how powerful it is when young people come together to learn and inspire each other."

Tanislav Ivanov: "Spending a week in Lithuania for the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange "EngagedYOUTH" was an unforgettable experience. From the very first day, I was welcomed with warmth and openness, and what stood out to me the most was the kindness and friendliness of everyone involved. The atmosphere was filled with positive energy, making it easy to connect with new people and build friendships that I hope will last beyond this exchange. One of the most rewarding aspects of the program was getting to learn about different cultures. Meeting young people from various backgrounds and sharing our experiences was not only fun but also eye-opening. It gave me a deeper understanding of the diversity within Europe and how, despite our differences, we all have so much in common. The organization of the exchange was excellent. The activities were engaging and well-structured, allowing us to both participate and take on leadership roles. It was exciting to help organize some of the sessions, which gave me a sense of responsibility and teamwork. Every day brought new challenges and learning opportunities, whether it was through discussions, team-building games, or creative workshops. A highlight of the trip was our visit to Klaipėda, one of Lithuania’s bigger cities. Exploring its museums and learning about the region’s history was fascinating, and walking along the stunning Baltic Sea coastline was an unforgettable moment. The cool sea breeze and breathtaking views provided a perfect ending to our time there, allowing us to reflect on everything we had experienced throughout the exchange. Looking back, this week in Lithuania was much more than just a trip—it was an opportunity for personal growth, cultural exchange, and lasting friendships. I am incredibly grateful for this experience and would encourage anyone who has the chance to take part in an Erasmus+ program to do so. It’s an adventure that stays with you long after it ends."

Spas Mihalev: "Spending time in a beautiful little village in Lithuania, we quickly realized that teamwork makes all the difference. From day one, everyone pitched in, helping each other and sharing ideas like we’d known each other forever. What stood out the most wasn’t just the work we did, but the friendships we built along the way. The cozy village setting made it even more special, bringing us closer together as we laughed, learned, and created something meaningful. In the end, this project wasn’t just about what we achieved—it was about the people who made it unforgettable."

We encourage everyone to keep an eye on our website and social media for upcoming short-term projects. Don't miss the chance to be part of these exciting opportunities!
