Този ден обаче дойде и с тъга си тръгнахме, но както казаха те, "it's not a goodbye, it's a see you soon".
Taking part in this project was the first step of my self-development. If I have to define my time there, I would use the word "precious" because just in 10 days I managed to collect some knowledge from everyone.

All the activities we had together made us a team, we worked hard and achieved some amazing things, but living together, sharing almost everything, communicating and having fun is what made us a family. At the beginning we had some ice breakers, energizers that were quite simple, but amusing. This was the chance to get to know everyone. We had also some more serious activities where we were split in teams and had to present products, to sell them (learn how to speak in front of public), we played "elevator pitch" which was pretty amazing, we learnt how to write CV. In addition, we were taught how to act, we did some really useful exercises. Acting was my biggest fear but when I did it I felt a sense of freedom and it made me becоme more confident.I am a kind of at a loss for words about this unique adventure!"

The project “Theater for Rural Youth” was my first ERASMUS+ youth exchange and I can honestly say it was an incredible experience. Of course the most important part is the project itself and what we learned. I looked forward to each session and workshop. I can truly say I grew as a person and gained so much new experience, knowledge and inspiration. As the project’s theme was theater, we created a theater play and performed it in front of the villagers. The preparation was a little tough but it was all worth it in the end and I’m really proud of how it turned out.

I’ve already met up with a few of the participants after the project and I’m really glad I had the chance to meet so many incredible people. Since I really adore traveling and exploring new and foreign cultures and traditions, the time I spent in Romania was really culturally enriching for me and I would love to visit the country again in the future.I am really grateful for the opportunity I got to participate in this Youth Exchange and I excitedly look forward to my next ERASMUS+ project. Saying my “next” project means that I will certainly apply for more youth exchanges in the near future and I would greatly recommend it to everyone."

Велислава Велкова "Theater of the Rural Youth" is the first project I’ve participated in, but surely it won’t be the last one! There were so many "first-times" for only 10 days: first time abroad, first time on an Youth Exchange, first time living with foreigners. After coming back home from Romania, I got interested in NGOs and the way they operate. This youth exchange gave me the opportunity to rethink my choice of career path. I think every student should have at least one youth exchange during their time in school – it’s the best investment of time and energy! The way of informal education, accompanied by creative tasks expands the creative skills. We were given the freedom to express our opinion however we want to – be it with a speech, video, poetry, dance. Each of us was encouraged to show their individuality and way of expressing themselves.

Thanks to the international evenings we got to learn more about other countries’ cuisine and culture. It was so much fun gathering around the loved-by-all speaker of Geani’s while dancing sirtaki, various hora / traditional Bulgarian dances and etc.On the 4th day of the project we went to the popular Hercules’ town where we were on a mission – we had to find the oldest tree, to help a stranger, to find the Hercules statue and take photo in front of it with each team… it was the perfect mixture of adventure and process of learning about local myths and legends.

A few days before the end of the project, we were told that we have to make up a play for the closest village’s residents. This felt stressful at first, to be honest, but as we practiced the play, it got closer and closer to my heart. For our play, the team decided we should have some Romanian words at the end of the scene, so we can connect directly with the audience by speaking their language. Learning a bit of Romanian was intriguing because of the unusual spelling, but every one of us managed to pronounce the words correctly and the satisfaction at the end was real! One thing I’m sure I will never forget is how when we went backstage, all pumped up because we overcame our fears and expressed ourselves in front of the audience, and we saw the other participants crying. This was when I realized what being a human is all about – to make other human beings feel something. The feeling can not be described.
I am looking forward to new Erasmus + youth exchanges and projects of Active Bulgarian Society!"

It was so amazing. The whole experience I gained, all the things I learned, all people I met. I just miss these days. When I was travelling to Romania I was afraid - afraid not of meeting new people and ways of living. I was afraid of expressing myself in a way everyone would understand. This theater play made me a different person! We had an opportunity to play in front of 50 or maybe more people. We had to think about main topics and create small scenes in which to explain the main idea. My personage was a depressed man, who had lost everything . It was hard to overcome my fears to play in front of so many people.
If you are young and you are searching for yourself, who you are, why you should continue this hard battle with life, just feel free to join a project organised by the Active Bulgarian Society. You will not regret it, believe me."
